Early in the season SEGAS has a 'shakedown cruise' down to Queenborough for a night and back the next day. As I was off for this weekend I decided to go. It would give me the oportunity to meet some of the other members and go to somewhere new.
High tide was at noon and by 1 I was on my way. I wasn't first down the river but not last either. I gave Jo a lift out to sailor vie in my tender as thier boat was full.

I had a lovely sail down river on headsail only. The wind was coming from the N/W and it was just the right streangth. I tied up alongside Spice Cat at the second attempt. We were soon stuck into the gin and tonic and was i getting to know everybody.
Five thirty and it was time to head ashore on the jolly boat and go to the Flying Dutchman and a buffet dinner and beer.

Sunday morning and we were all heading back. The breeze had picked up a bit and it was fun tacking back up the river to Gillingham. I was back ashore by lunch a thoroughly enjoyable sail.
